The White House's Tone Deaf, Virtue-Signaling Christmas
The White House continues to make a mockery of what used to be honored traditions.
The White House Christmas decorations are trying a bit much this year. When the decorations went up at the end of November, First Lady Jill Biden expressed that she wanted to capture the magic and wonder of the season.
Ninety-eight Christmas trees, more than 142,000 twinkling lights and nearly 34,000 ornaments deck the halls of the White House in ways that first lady Jill Biden hopes will inspire visitors to embrace their inner child and experience the "magic, wonder and joy" of the season. It's her theme for the holiday décor.
"Each room on display is designed to capture the pure, unfiltered delight and imagination of our childhoods, to see this time of year through the wondrous, sparkling eyes of children," she says in remarks prepared for a Monday afternoon reception to formally unveil the décor and thank hundreds of designers and decorators who volunteered to spend last week transforming the executive mansion.
Most wonder what exactly she was thinking… or smoking. Especially after she posted this video of an interpretive dance performance by the Dorrance Dance of New York, reimagining The Nutcracker through tap and jazz stylings. Duke Ellington and Billy Strayhorn’s interpretation of Tchaikovsky’s “Nutcracker Suite,” is the foundation on which their performance is built.
Because X and Substack still don’t like each other, here is the link, because you must view it to believe it.
Does anyone believe Jill and Joe Biden go to interpretive dance performances or listen to jazz? Can they even name one jazz artist without being briefed?
Doubtful. Yet, the First Lady decided to not only make that the centerpiece of the dizzying video, but to proudly post it on X.
FLOTUS also managed to join her husband as the laughingstock of the world. Listen to the SkyNews’ thinly-veiled mockery of the video and her Christmas decorations.
WATCH:
While nobody else wanted to go there, me and Hotep Jesus had no problem in calling a spade a spade.
The bigotry and virtue-signaling of the Bidens continues to eke out of every pore, even at Christmas.
One of the SkyNews Aussie commenters made a point: Where’s the manger and the baby Jesus? Why is the light of the world and the reason for the season woefully missing among those 142,000 twinkling lights?
But Christmas is about Christ’s birth, and the lack of any reference to that, or anything Christmas-related, was a glaring omission. “The Nutcracker” is a time-honored tradition for many people around the holidays. My family goes to the annual performance in Philadelphia every Christmas season. If Jill Biden wanted to have a tap-dancing "Nutcracker" interpretation, that was her prerogative. The video, however, should have at least referenced Christmas in some way, if not the birth of Christ.
Perish the thought! Separation of church and state, and all that rot. Well, even if they cannot bring themselves to display a creche, how about just toning down the entire display this year? We have many Jewish Americans who are grieving over the Israel-Hamas war. We have other Americans who are being thoroughly raped by Bidenomics to the point where their ability to purchase presents is limited (or non-existent), and they are forgoing live trees because of the inflated expense. How about reading the room and maybe using less of our tax dollars to fund what many have considered a garish display?
But the Biden’s have no concept on how to read the room, they just turn their backs on them.
God Bless us all, everyone.
