The Disposable Black Poors
The Democrat Party's go-to victims, Blacks and the poor, are once again placed front and center to justify saving Roe v. Wade. It's disgusting.
Let’s talk about body autonomy, shall we?
I have been an overweight girl for most of my life. I have no shame about this, because I’ve also been a health enthusiast. Part of health is that you feel at home in your own skin, and once I dismissed the BMI chart and just chose to pursue health, it’s all been good. I exercise regularly, most of the time I eat properly, and I stay on top of my physical challenges. It is probably because of this that I have been able to avoid the common comorbidities that go along with being “morbidly obese”, like diabetes and high blood pressure.
But when it comes to the medical profession, I have mostly been force-fed what I need to do about my body in order to fit into their “health” paradigm. When I put forward what I feel are my necessary body concerns, that same medical profession has told me that it’s either all in my head or the knee-jerk response of you just need to lose weight.
It’s taken a great deal of effort in my adult years to find medical people who actually respect what I have to say, and care about my body autonomy.
It’s obvious that certain factions, like Democrats and the Left, only care about my body autonomy when they can use it for political ends. Case in point: Abortion. With the potential overturn of Roe v. Wade by the Supreme Court, the need to codify Roe has become particularly urgent to this malevolent tag team. One of the main reasons they postulate is that the Black Poors need abortion in order to survive.
Yep. Right up there with their mantra of, “for the children”. <insert *eyeroll* emoji>
ProPublica, a left-wing advocacy magazine, sounds the alarm:
Government data released this year shows that U.S. maternal deaths increased significantly in the first year of the pandemic, going from 754 in 2019 to 861 in 2020, a 14% jump. The death rate for Black women was almost three times higher than that for white women.
The stats for 2020 were no surprise. As ProPublica detailed in 2017, the U.S. has fallen behind other wealthy nations and many less affluent ones where deaths linked to pregnancy and childbirth have plummeted over the past two decades. Deaths are only one yardstick for measuring maternal health. For every U.S. woman who dies as a result of pregnancy or childbirth, up to 70 suffer dangerous and sometimes life-threatening complications.
This is not a newsflash. Black mortality during pregnancy and birth has been an issue for the four decades of my child-bearing years. The fact that it hasn’t been solved in the last 40 years means that there really is no real desire on the part of the medical profession to do so. Like abortion, doing C-sections and hysterectomies are huge revenue generators, and there are statistics that show that Black women get the lion’s share of those too.
This is part of the reason for the rise of doulas and midwives to manage pregnancy and birth, rather than medical professionals.
But the conclusion ProPublica draws is that overturning Roe will lead to more pregnancies, and therefore more deaths <insert *face palm* emoji>:
The landscape for maternal health post-Roe would change swiftly, and not for the better, many public health officials and experts say. Some 25 states would likely move to ban abortion, according to the Center for Reproductive Rights. A brief submitted in the case on which the court is ruling, signed by about 550 public-health and reproductive-health researchers, draws a straight line between lack of abortion access and increased risk of maternal death.
“Put simply,” the brief says, “women living in states with the most restrictive abortion policies — and thus the least abortion access — were found to be more likely to die while pregnant or shortly thereafter than women living in states with less restrictive abortion policies, regardless of state-to-state differences in poverty, race/ethnicity, and education.”
Menopause has taken me out of the baby-making business, but just for grins and giggles, let’s look at the record of my state of California. California is second place in having the most liberal abortion laws in the country. Governor Hair Gel is looking to make California a sanctuary state for abortion rights, spending my tax dollars to pay for not only abortions of women from other states, but their food and lodging too.
Another reason he does not deserve another term. But, I digress….
The so-called data from ProPublica’s experts doesn’t line up with the facts. Roe is still in place, but in California, Black women are still dying from pregnancy and pregnancy-related complications. So much so that His Hairfulness decided a law was needed to address these disparities.
From ABC News:
Black women in California are more likely to die within a year of pregnancy than women of other races, prompting a wave of policy changes this year in the nation's most populous state that culminated on Monday with Gov. Gavin Newsom signing a new law aimed at reducing the disparity.
The law, among other things, creates a new committee within the Department of Public Health to review maternal deaths throughout the state by interviewing family members and doctors while exploring records and other reports.
If I wanted to dig up records in Oregon, Washington, and New York—states who are also liberal with their abortion access—I would probably find similarities. In fact, Delaware, Georgia, and Ohio has pushed or passed similar legislation to help Black mothers:
More political bright, shiny objects that are now being contradicted by this “fight” to codify Roe. They have forgotten about making it safer for Black women to give birth, and decided they need Black women to have more abortions in order to save their lives!
LifeNews also pointed out this mixed messaging by the death merchants:
According to a study published in the American Journal of Public Health, black women have the highest abortion rate in the country at 27.1 per 1,000 women compared with 10 per 1,000 for white women.
When faced with this fact, abortion advocates will often deflect it by saying that more should be done to alleviate the high maternal mortality rate (MMR) among African American women. However, they often fail to acknowledge that the same ethnic group of women with the nation’s highest MMR is the same ethnic group of women who are receiving 30 percent of all the nation’s abortions. There is undoubtedly a physiological connection, but abortion advocates and the medical institutions that are in their pockets do not find it advantageous to highlight any negative side effects from abortion. There is the perception among African American women that the high MMR is due to racism in the type of health care they are given. They often feel like they are not heard or cared for as well as their white counterparts.
You cannot make this stuff up.
Like me, Sonnie Johnson is having none of it:
Can I get an Amen?
This goes back to slavery, where Black women were used as breeders and workhorses, and continued into Planned Parenthood Founder Margaret Sanger’s “Negro Project”. Sanger was a committed eugenicists who thought that people like me were dangerous weeds who needed to be wiped out:
Sanger’s obsession with eugenics and racism was clearly presented in her involvement of planning the First World Population Conference which took place in Geneva in 1926. She was not mentioned on the actual program, but instead worked behind the scenes and initiated the “Negro Project” in 1939.
The objective of the “project” was to infiltrate the black community by presenting birth control as a health option for women to kill off the black race. Kill them off by limiting the growth of the population by abortion and sterilization.
They knew that some blacks would figure out their sinister plot so it was decided by Sanger to take the plan to the clergy and charismatic members the black community to have them deliver the death message to their congregations.
Circa 2022: Treasury Secretary Janet Yellin, who probably went to the same eugenics school as Margaret Sanger, has decided that the only way to control inflation is for the Black Poors to kill their babies.
Senator Tim Scott, who, had his mom been bamboozled by these charlatans would never have existed, made the most salient of points:
So much for their body autonomy argument.
I hope SCOTUS does the right thing and overturns Roe, if for nothing else than to blunt these fools from using my body and my life for their political gain.
