Reminder to Californians: Voting Them Out Is the Only Way
The Newsom Recall may have been a failed opportunity, but the infrastructure that was created to change the trajectory of the state is working its work. We can do this.
In my morning post I talked about the gas prices, and the extra taxation that Californians have on the already high prices that could be easily eliminated by our Legislature. Yet, they refuse to do it.
Now the Legislature and our idiot governor want to give a $400.00 rebate check to all Californians. Doesn’t matter if you own a car or not. Republican Assemblyman James Gallagher points out the stupidity of this move:
Why not indeed? Yet, this is what we live with. We had an opportunity back in September of 2021 to remove this governor and send a message to this feckless Democrat Super Majority legislature, and California failed. Elections have consequences, and we are feeling the ill effects of this from national to local. We The People of California need to change the trajectory in June and November, and we are already seeing signs of this happening.
After the epic whomping by the San Francisco voters of their radical school board, now the citizens of the city by the Bay are ready to send a message that even the most woke cannot tolerate streets overrun with crime.
According to a new poll, San Franciscans are apparently chomping at the bit to recall their District Attorney Chesa Boudin by a 68 percent margin.
San Francisco District Attorney Chesa Boudin has just 12 weeks left to make perhaps the biggest case of his career: convincing the city's frustrated voters that he should keep his job.
But a new poll, commissioned by the campaign seeking to recall Boudin, suggests that might be a daunting task. Of 800 voters likely to participate in the June 7 election, 68% said they would vote yes on recalling Boudin. Seventy-four percent said they have an unfavorable opinion of him, and 78% rated his job performance as "only fair" or "poor."
Let’s pray they hold the line. A once gorgeous city is now overrun with boarded up businesses and have sidewalks strewn with needles and feces; this would be a first step to stanch the bleeding.
Further south, the recall petition to oust Los Angeles County District Attorney George Gascon is on target to reach its signature goal. The campaign has also raised the necessary finances to keep collecting and verifying signatures.
Opponents of Los Angeles County's top prosecutor said Wednesday they were inching closer to collecting the required number of signatures needed to initiate a second recall attempt.
The campaign to recall District Attorney George Gascon also said it has raised $3.5 million dollars in addition to collecting more than 125,000 signatures, leaving the effort well-positioned to gather the 566,857 signatures -- 10% of registered voters -- needed by a July 6 deadline.
The group has to submit the signatures to the office of the Los Angeles County Registrar-Recorder and County Clerk. If successful, the recall question could appear on the November 2022 ballot.
Many mocked the failure of the Newsom Recall. Where it did not fail was in activating the citizens of California and cementing an infrastructure that is being used now to rid the state of two awful district attorneys and reform some really horrible school boards. Some California counties are choosing recall, while others are simply mobilizing to vote these bad actors out of office in the June 7 primary, and in November.
Less an exercise in failure, and more an awakening of a sleeping giant?
We shall see.
I am preparing a media reel for myself, and happened upon this interview I did back in September with the lovely Heidi Harris, which contains reminders that we must continue to fight, and what we must do in 2022.
Only 20 minutes—give it a view.
