Nancy Pelosi is Running for Re-Election; Hide Your Children
Because everything she does is "for the children."
I for one didn’t fall for the hype. With Dementia Joe and the Hapless VP Harris at the helm, there was no way Cruella de Pelosi was going to be sidelined or in the background. She is a consummate puppet master, not a puppet.
On Tuesday, the House Speaker took to her campaign Twitter account to announce her re-election plans.
The speech is full of the usual progressive buzz words and phrases with previews of the Democrat agenda going forward. Basically, expect another push to pass the $1.75 trillion Build Back Better agenda.
And word of warning: Hold on to your children, because she’s a comin’ for ‘em.
“Hello. It's Nancy.
“Thank you for the opportunity to share some thoughts with you: our V.I.P. Our Volunteers in Politics in our ongoing engagement for the people. Thank you for being a constant source of new, fresh ideas, and political activism to help Democrats deliver and to defend Democracy.”
Democracy. A term they love to bandy about but have no concept of what it truly means. Let me remind you, my fellow citizens, we are not a democracy—we are a Representative Republic. Americans—heck, Californians do not want Pelosi to deliver and defend “Democracy;” we want her to defend US and get government the heck out of our lives. But she has no interest in what WE want.
But that’s not part of Pelosi’s or the Democrats plans. Mob rule, under the guise of Democracy is their intent.
“Thank you for giving me the privilege to represent our city and our San Francisco values in the Congress. Human rights, reproductive justice, LGBTQ equality, respect for immigrants and care for each other.”
More buzz words and word salad spoken between clacks of her dentures. And she’s one to talk about human rights when her district has homeless people sleeping in their own vomit and feces.
“When people ask me what are the three most important issues facing the Congress, I always say the same thing: Our Children. Our Children. Our Children. Their health, their education, the housing and economic security of their families, a clean safe environment in which they can thrive, and a world at peace and where they are all welcome in which they can reach their fulfilment.
If she really cared about “The Children,” Pelosi would tell her nephew Gavin Newsom to lay off the mask and vaccine mandates. This is single-handedly ruining children’s health and education. She also needs to speak to the Legislature about killing AB 1400, which will double Californians taxes in order to get single-payer healthcare for the entire state. That is a guarantee for economic insecurity for people who are already struggling.
“That is my Why. Why I am in Congress. For the Children. This is my story and this is my song.”
I know what hymn that line is from—does she? Such a hypocrite.
“As you hear me say, "When you are in the arena, you have to be able to take a punch or throw a punch--for the children.”
And in Pelosi’s 32 years in Congress, she has done neither. It’s a throwaway line that she trots out when convenient.
“In terms of health, my first words on the floor of the house were to fight against HIV/AIDS. To fight the disease and discrimination. Working together, we passed the Affordable Care Act, strengthened Social Security, Medicare, Medicaid, lowered prescription drug prices and now are fighting COVID—with equity.”
More convenient buzz phrases that sweep in all the folks from Baby Boomer to clueless Zoomer.
“In San Francisco the climate is not an issue, it is an ethic. Education, the economy, and the environment are all part of how we address the Climate crisis, creating good-paying, green union jobs, affordable housing, clean energy, infrastructure, transportation justice, and education, educating the next generation to succeed in safe schools with 21st Century skills.”
Thanks to California government’s COVID policies, the children are barely in school, let alone safe in them. Students are graduating barely able to read and write. Pelosi might want to think about improving on the 19th Century skills of reading, writing, and actual math, before she makes the leap to 21st Century skills—whatever those are.
“Our safe communities require gun violence prevention, addressing the root causes of crime, and supporting law enforcement with Justice in Policing.”
Tell your nephew to repeal Prop. 47 for starters. Smash and grab looting are a regular occurrence in San Francisco, and major cities in the state. Preventing gun violence does not address the root cause of Soros-funded district attorneys who refuse to prosecute crime.
“Our vision for a world at peace requires a strong Democracy at home as an example to the world. We are grateful to our men and women in uniform, veterans and military families, and honor their sacrifice with our insistence on securing voting rights and end the big dark money in politics and amplifying the voice of the grassroots.”
This is veiled language, but the gist is that they will continue to defund and defang law enforcement, will continue to push for the federalization of elections, and the progressives in her party will continue to run roughshod over policy.
The “big dark money” is laughable, since she regularly presses the flesh at wine caves in her state, collecting billions from her elite friends.
As The Hill assessed her re-election bid, they dropped this bit of knowledge:
Even if Pelosi ultimately does not remain in Congress next year, announcing now that she is officially running for reelection ensures that she doesn't have a lame-duck status.
Doing otherwise could undermine her fundraising prowess — Pelosi has raised more than $1 billion for Democrats over the past two decades — while the party is trying to raise as much money as possible during this year's campaign cycle.
Pelosi's decision to officially run for reelection this year also postpones any potentially messy Democratic leadership races until after the elections should the party end up replacing its top leaders.
As much as the Democrat caucus may make noises about replacing Pelosi, they know they need her for her ability to fundraise, and her monied connections. They’re not going to bite the hand that feeds them, even if they pretend to do it in the press.
“While we've made progress much more needs to be done to improve people's lives. Our Democracy is at risk because of assaults on the truth, the assault on the U.S. Capitol and the state-by-state assault on voting rights. This election is crucial: nothing less is at stake than our Democracy.”
There’s that word again. Back to Democracy. Pelosi will milk her J6 Commission for as long as she can, and continue to try to make trespassers into insurrectionists in order to further their Big Lie.
“But as we say: we don't agonize, we organize! And that is why I'm running for reelection to Congress and respectfully seek your support. I'd be greatly honored by it and grateful for it. Thank you so much.”
Trust me, they’re agonizing, as well as organizing. Pelosi is 81-years-old, and may not be able to keep selling the same, old snake oil.
Her further-left competitor for the seat wants to put her out to pasture.
We’ll see how well that goes.
