"Kumaré"--Enlightenment of Different Variety

So on top of my birthday this week, the Girl also celebrated her fifth wedding anniversary [pause for cheers, hoots, and confetti tossing]!
It was low-key, as both me and the hubby are dead-busted broke; but that didn't stop us from celebrating. After a low-key morning of sleeping in and breakfast, we took advantage of a couple of Groupons purchased months prior (pays to plan ahead), and one of them was for a screening, two popcorns and two drinks at the independent theater Cinefamily.
This weekend, Cinefamily happened to be screening Kumaré, a gem of a film in limited release throughout the country.
I was quite surprised by the film's rare honesty and nuanced portrayal of spiritual leadership and faith. Check out my review on my Examiner.com page: 'Kumare' offers enlightenment of a different variety, and see the Official Movie Trailer below for a tidbit on what to expect.

It will be at the Cinefamily (in the Fairfax District) through August 9. You can visit the movie website for where it may be showing in your city.
My weekend tip for you!
