One of the reasons I became a writer and a journalist is to be able to speak with interesting people and spotlight people and organizations who are seeking to do good in the world, to inform, and to change the landscape around them for the better. In 2021, I had the opportunity to speak with author John DiGirolamo for his book, It’s Not About The Badge, which focused on rural policing and their stories. This year, DiGirolamo published his latest book, It’s Not About The Sex, which is less about “sex,” and more about the people who are caught in the net of human trafficking, whether as victims, advocates, law enforcement, and even as former victimizer.
