Epic Fail: About that "Laser Focus" on Jobs...
Today marks the official demise of President Obama's Jobs Council. U.S. News reports that:
"When Obama in January 2011 formed his Council on Jobs and Competitiveness, unemployment was hovering above 9 percent. Two years president later, more than 12 million people in the U.S. are out of work. The unemployment rate has improved to 7.8 percent, but both parties agree that's still too high."
Obama's Jobs Council Shutting Down on Thursday
Investors Business Daily doesn't bother to sugar coat, laying out the real skinny on unemployment in America and the failure of this President to either stem the tide of job loss or get out of the way of job creation:
"Officially, some 23 million people don't have regular work. While official unemployment has dipped below 8%, the real unemployment rate — the one that counts discouraged workers and those who'd like full-time jobs but can't find one — is 14.4%.
Yes, we know, this is a tired litany. And yet, have we become as a people so inured to Obama's failure that we no longer take note of it?
Worse, do we just do nothing, letting Obama's ruinous Keynesian experiments take their course?"
Obama's Cynical "Laserlike Focus" on Jobs Turns to Lack of Interest
So what happened to that "Laser Focus"? I surmise that it wasn't there in the first place, even though he loved putting it in speeches. This fine citizen presents news footage of President Pompous declaring no less than six times how he was now going to pivot and focus on jobs in his administration.

Really, it's all about political expediency versus political demagoguery, and Obama will always choose demagoguery over the former. I don't call this the Smokes and Mirrors Presidency for nothing. Whatever gives the illusion that "important work" is being done, while the work of killing the economy, cutting job creators off at the knees, and creating a permanent underclass is cemented behind the scenes.
Supposed Immigration Reform and Gun Control are hot button issues that allow him to speechify, posture, and play well with the sycophant news media. While actual work to eliminate policies that hamper individual freedoms and kill business are never undertaken. With more looming draconian tax codes courtesy of the monster Obamacare, we are guaranteed to see little increase in job creation, more layoffs, and more part-time jobs "McJobs" that offer little in terms of growth or benefits.
Welcome to your second term--don't say you were not warned.
