Because He's Elon Musk, and You're Not
After much hue and cry and rending of garments, the Twitter Board stopped fighting and decided to just take it.
This week is starting with much laughter.
It’s a good sign.
As I wrote over at RedState, “It is Finished.”
The highly intelligent Carol Roth said it best:
Indeed. Even when the Twitter Board attempted to commit financial and fiduciary suicide last week, Musk kept his cool, got his ducks in a row, and looked for other means. Twitter’s Board knew they had no recourse: Totally destroy the house, or accept the person who could do the remodel.
After today, let the rebuilding begin.
From The Wall Street Journal:
Twitter Inc. TWTR 5.66% accepted Elon Musk’s bid to take over the company and go private, a deal that would give the world’s richest person control over the social-media network where he is also among its most influential users.
The $44 billion deal marks the close of a dramatic courtship and a change of heart at Twitter, where many executives and board members initially opposed Mr. Musk’s takeover approach. The deal has polarized Twitter employees, users and regulators over the power tech giants wield in determining the parameters of discourse on the internet and how those companies enforce their rules.
The two sides worked through the night to hash out a deal in which Mr. Musk plans to take Twitter private in a deal that values the company at $54.20 a share.
However Twitter will look in the future, the free speech tweeps who have been mostly targeted by the old regime are putting in their requests:
I am also shadowbanned, so it would be great to see what happens if that’s lifted.
Word for now is that Trump does not plan to return, despite Elon Musk’s saying he is welcome to do so. Just like this reversal on the deal, that could change quickly.
Musk is a smart man, so that’s not beyond reach.
Yeah, those bots were prevalent when we were fighting AB5. And even Ice Cube was shadowbanned? Shows you what a hellscape the site had become.
To the Leftist and Thought Police who are threatening to leave Twitter <insert *laughter* emoji>, Musk attempted an olive branch:
It’s been a meltdown since the announcement, and these ones are the beauts:
Yeah, the Leftist and Liberal tears have really been delicious.
The Right To Bear Memes is always timely:
And if it involves a triumph of the free market and capitalism, you know that Senator Fauxcahontas cannot help herself:
“Different set of rules”? This is a woman who faked Native American ancestry in order to get tenure at Harvard and pretty much got away with it.
Take all the seats.
