50 Days to 50 Years: Day 39, Urth Caffe with Aimee Blacher
"No distance of place or lapse of time can lessen the friendship of those who are thoroughly persuaded of each other's worth." —Robert Southey
I have not seen Aimee Blacher for at least four years; but like old, dear friends, we simply picked up where we left off over lunch at Urth Caffe in Beverly Hills. Aimee and I met in a single's group at The Church on the Way, and we were able to relate to each other as creative artists, and our unique pursuit of our walks with Christ. Unfortunately, that sometimes ran counter with certain people in church leadership, so we would share stories and commiserate; it was comforting that there was someone else out there who could relate to these struggles and also point each other back to the only true North: Jesus Christ.

Aimee sang beautifully at my wedding. She was around for the years of heartache, and part of the prayers offered before Lynn came on the scene; so it was only right that she be a part of the celebration of our union. I was blessed to hear that Aimee is now engaged! An answer to prayers offered on her behalf and a salve to her years of romantic heartache as well. Jeff is a sweet man who loves God, loves Aimee, and will be a good provider and covering.

They have already started their family with the addition of Bella! As you can see, she is a fur kid, so it's all good!
